How to prepare for your appointment?
A. All
patients will need to fill out their Patient Intake form prior to their
appointment – please follow the steps below to do so.
1. You
will receive an appointment reminder from Patient Fusion 1 week and 1 day
before your appointment. A link will be in that e-mail to set up a Patient
Fusion account, please click on it and create an account.
2. Once
you have created an account go to the "Appointments" option on the
left side.
3. Go to
"Complete Check-In" in blue under your listed appointments.
4. Answer
the following questions regarding your health history as accurately as
possible.
5. Once
you are finished review the information and select "Submit
Information".
6. Your
Patient Intake form will be securely sent to your physician and your
appointment check-in will be complete.
B. If you
are a NEW BHRT patient you will need to listen and complete the “Return of
Passion - Prepare and Defend” audio download prior to your appointment. This
can be found at the following link: Return
of Passion – Prepare and Defend.
What does an appointment include?
This is a specialty practice with
management of Bio-Identical Hormones and medical conditions associated with
hormonal imbalance. We do not perform Well Woman Exams or Pap smears. Those services can be obtained through your
family doctor or an OB/GYN facility. In the near future, I will list OB/GYN
facilities who are working closely with CyGYN.
How much does an appointment cost for a new BHRT patient?
A. $500: The first visit will typically last 60 to 90 minutes.
Allow for a 90 minute visit.
a. You will be assessed and appropriate laboratory studies will be
ordered.
b. Most women prefer that hormone therapy is initiated at the first
visit.
B. $200: A return visit for follow up in 10 weeks is required. This
will require 40 minutes.
a. Pelvic examination (to assure hormones are being properly
absorbed).
b. Discussion of laboratory results.
c.
Change in hormone therapy, if
necessary, based on test results.
C. $200: A return visit five months after initiating the therapy is
strongly recommended. Pelvic examination is generally not necessary at this
visit.
How much does an appointment cost for an existing BHRT patient?
A. $300: 60 minute Annual BHRT consultation and prescription
renewal. If laboratory studies are required, those charges will be in addition
to the consultation fee. At the present time CyGYN is
negotiating prices for laboratory studies that cost less and will be more
complete than what has been available in the past.
B. $200: 20-40 minute follow up appointment. An additional
appointment may be required to follow up laboratory studies. You will not need
a follow-up appointment if the test results and hormone changes are very
straightforward. In this case a new prescription would simply be sent to the
pharmacy.
How many appointments will I need?
If you are doing well on your therapy and
do not require testing, it will only be one consultation appointment each year.
Why are the appointments longer than they have been in the past?
The level of care and detail that we are
able to provide is much greater in this practice. In the past, the time
allotted for an appointment was based on the number of patients that needed to
be seen in one day, to cover the expenses of the medical practice. Because we
can provide individualized care and do not have to support a large number of
staff, we are able to increase the length of time that we can devote to you AND
decrease the total cost.
Why aren’t you filing my insurance?
As you know, there are daily advances in
medicine. It is not uncommon for insurance companies to cover only minimal
testing and care. We will no longer negotiate the quality of your care with
insurance companies. We are establishing new concepts for insurance options. CyGYN will keep you updated.
What is a RejuVa procedure?
RejuVa vaginal rejuvenation is an in-office
procedure that treats vaginal laxity by making the vagina ‘tighter’, better
lubricated and does treat mild to moderate urine loss that is caused by
physical activity. You may read more about the RejuVa on this website, in the
medical library.
What is an “O” shot?
This is an in-office medical procedure that
can enhance sexual sensation and may improve urinary incontinence.
Can I use my FSA or HAS to cover charges?
You will need to check with your accountant
to see if your plan will allow you to deduct the expense of consultation or
treatment. CyGYN will issue you a statement of procedure
and cost for you to submit.
